Concealed Weapon Permit Information
Availability
Concealed pistol application kits are provided during normal business hours at the following locations:
- County sheriff
- Local police agencies
- County clerk (Marshall office only)
Concealed pistol application kits are free of charge to any individual wanting to carry a concealed pistol.
Procedure for Applying
- The applicant must file their application with the County Clerk in the county in which they reside.
This must include a copy of the certificate of completion of a pistol safety training course.
- Applicant must pay a fee of $105.00 to the County Clerk at the time of filing.
- Applicant receives receipt for payment.
- Applicant provides receipt to the Sheriff Department indicating payment has been made.
- Applicant has fingerprints taken at the Sheriff Department.
- Sheriff Department forwards the fingerprints to the Michigan State Police for processing.
- Once the gun board receives the fingerprints comparison reports, they will schedule a meeting for the applicant.
