About the Poll Book Column...

The Poll Book total in all of the details sheets simply reflects the number of ballots cast. Many people turn in ballots on which they do not vote for every office or proposal offered. It is therefore possible (in fact, quite probable) that the Poll Book total will not equal the sum of the total votes for the individual candidates. In no case, however, will the sum of the total votes for an office or proposal exceed that of the Poll book total.
